Team Budget Forklifts have backed up their recent Grafton to Inverell Classic success with another win in the latest National Road Series event “The 2009 Pengana Goulburn to Citi” on the weekend (20.09.09) in NSW.
Richard Lang has quickly settled into the team after signing a contract before the Tour of Murray. The National Omnium Champion powering home for a great win after some nice lead up work by the Budget Forklifts team especially inform team mate Mal Rudolph who launched a solo attack in the final stages of the classic, before sling-shoting Lang into the final corner with the Sydney rider showing brilliant speed to comfortably win from Fly V Australia pair Jonathon Cantwell and National Criterium champion Bernie Sulzberger. Top Teams, Praties and Drapac Porsche, making up the top five with 2008 winner Will Clarke and Gene Bates next to finish.
National Road Champion Peter McDonald (Drapac Porsche) showed his talent on the hills taking the King of the Mountains Category. While Team Budget Forklifts have a great day winning the Teams Category and Richard Lang also winning the sprint King Classification.
